It's easy to play, but challenging to win - as you'd expect from the world of The Walking Dead. If you're going to survive and thrive, you'll need to come up with a strategy...
The Walking Dead: Aim of the Game
The side of the playmat shows a threat meter, representing more Walkers being drawn to the area by your supply run. Once it reaches the top, the final turn is played and the game ends.
By this time, your team of survivors need to have gathered all the supplies they need (8 Supply Tokens) to win the game. If you return without everything the community needs, or if none of your survivors make it back alive, then they've lost and will need to try again another day!
The Walking Dead: Supplies
Supplies are how you generate your final score in this game, with a target of 8 by the time your time runs out. But, your need to gather supplies is a trade-off against your need to consume resources while out on your mission...
You see, those scoring tokens can be used to heal health points on your survivors. This creates really interesting dilemmas on how much damage you'll allow your team to take before dipping into those bags of medicine and vital supplies that were meant for your camp...and important towards winning the game!
The Walking Dead: Opposed Dice Rolls
Combat in The Walking Dead: The Gift Calendar Game uses a system of opposed dice rolls, with the number of dice your survivors roll in melee or ranged combat conveniently marked against their entry on the play mat. In melee combat, if a Walker rolls more or equal successes to your survivor - you'll take a point of damage. If your survivor rolls higher, then the Walker is struck down and removed from the board.
Ranged combat is safer as the Walkers can't fight back immediately, but your target must be more than one space away - so you have to take your opportunities as they come up!
Fight to survive!
Following the All Out War, this advent calendar is the perfect addition featuring 24 doors to open.
