Mission: Fun & Games Tariff Notice
April 30 2025 Update
To our US customers, effective today April 30 2025 we will no longer be accepting US orders. We have made this decision due to the repeal of the De Minimus Rule. While we are located in and operate out of St. Albert, Alberta the majority of board games we carry are manufactured in China. With the abolishment of De Minimus on all products of Chinese origins regardless of where the product is being shipped from we have decided to suspend our US shipping offerings.
Due to the supply chain of board games, no longer having De Minimus may result in instances where you, the US consumer may be tariffed on a product multiple times, and we don't want that for you. For more information on De Minimus and what it did please see the following article:https://www.strtrade.com/trade-news-resources/str-trade-report/trade-report/april/details-on-elimination-of-de-minimis-eligibility-for-imports-from-china
This was not a decision we have made lightly, and we appreciate all of you who have purchased from us over the years.
Warmest regards,
Mission: Fun & Games
To our Valued Customers.
We know that many of you have been monitoring the ongoing US/Canada trade situation, and while it’s unfortunate that we need to write this, we wanted to let you know where things lie with Mission: Fun & Games regarding the potential US product tariffs.
We’re closely monitoring the situation, and tracking what tariffs Canada is putting in place on products originating from the United States via the most updated lists provided by the Canadian government (https://www.canada.ca/en/department-finance/news/2025/03/list-of-products-from-the-united-states-subject-to-25-per-cent-tariffs-effective-march-13-2025.html). With this said, we don’t know definitively exactly which products will and won’t be receiving increases at this time, and while we will do our best to ensure that product pricing remain as stable as possible, there may be some cases where we see our costs on products increase, and will have to adjust our pricing accordingly.
For customers who have existing pre-orders with us, we will do our absolute best to honor the pricing that has already been paid for your pre-order. If there is a significant increase in our costs, to the point where the paid pre-order amount does not cover our base costs for the product, we will reach out to affected customers on a case-by-case basis in order to discuss what options are available, and offer the best solution possible. In instances where we are unable to honor the original pre-order pricing, customers will have the option to cancel their pre-order for a full refund, no questions asked.
We are a small, family owned store and we want to continue to provide the best products and pricing to our community, however we are still a business first, and in order for us to continue we have to make difficult decisions like this one regarding our product pricing. We hope that you continue to support us in the future, and we appreciate all of the support you’ve given us so far. <3
Warmest Regards,
The Mission: Fun & Games Team
