This mini-expansion for the War of the Ring boardgame, allows for an alternate setup posing the question: What if evil had won the battle of five armies? Contains alternate map tiles, character cards, and event cards for the "War of the Ring" base game.

In War of the Ring, one player takes control of the Free Peoples (FP), the other player controls Shadow Armies (SA).

Warriors of Middle-earth also presents new mechanisms to enhance the game.
