It's Here... Gamealot 2018!

Tabletop Gaming From Dawn Till Dusk!

The time has finally come. After many months of preparation Gamealot 2018 will once again be bringing gamers to the table for fun, games, and a good cause!

Here's what the wonderful folks who put the whole thing together have to say about it:

"Gamealot is a 2 1/2 day board game convention that brings novice and experienced players together to play games and raise funds for a local charity that supports children and families in our community.

This year, we aim to raise $6000 for the children and parents who rely on the St. Albert Family Resource Centre for support.

Over 100 guests from across Alberta attend Gamealot each year. Attendees are invited to host board games or role playing games, and/or join any of the games that are being hosted. There are over a hundred titles to chose from! In addition to pre-scheduled games available to join, there’s room for unscheduled pick up games, life-size games, and plenty of prizes to be won!

Join the fun and register for Gamealot today!"

Gaming For A Good Cause

As mentioned above, Gamelot isn't just any old gaming convention. As you roll your dice, play your cards, and make your moves (that is, when you are not frozen with analysis paralysis) you'll be helping to support families in the St. Albert and surrounding area. All the proceeds from the weekend will be going to the St. Albert Family Resource Center, which has provided educational and support programs for families since 1982:

"The St. Albert Family Resource Centre provides services, expertise and educational support to strengthen families in our community. It offers 400 courses and workshops annually through their Family Life Education program, and one-on-one education, support and referral services to parents or to primary care givers of children.

In 2017:

499
Parents & Caregivers accessed resources and support services.

1045
Children & Youth participated in educational programs.

In 2018, the Family Resource Centre aims to increase the number of educational programs they offer, and build their outreach team to help children, youth and families within St. Albert and surrounding areas."
