COVID-19 and MISSION: Fun & Games

With the global COVID-19 situation still ongoing, we would like to give an update to our customers regarding our response to the crisis. The Mission: Fun & Games team is monitoring the situation closely, keeping up to date with each new development as it comes. Our first priority is the health and safety of our customers, staff, and community.

For the time being, we will be keeping our storefront open. In order to help ensure that everyone who comes through our doors has a safe and enjoyable shopping experience, we have implemented a battery of procedures to help mitigate risk of exposure.

Online Shopping

First, we encourage all of our customers, who are able, to take advantage of our alternative purchasing options for buying their board games and table top sundries. For those who prefer to shop from the comfort of their own home, our website Boardgames.ca can ship the games you want right to your door. The thousands of titles on the site are synonymous with our in-store stock, so everything you can buy on our sales floor can also be bought from your phone, tablet, or computer.

Curbside Pickup

For those who aren't keen to wait, or don't want to pay the cost of shipping, we are now offering curbside pickup. Shop online as normal, then choose the "Curb Side P/U when ready" option during checkout. Please allow for up to one to three business days for us to get your order ready. Once you have received a confirmation email that your order is ready, you can then come down to pick up your order. Weather permitting, all you have to do then is follow the instructions on our website. A quick summary: Before coming down, give the store a text (1-866-379-1055) to let us know you are on your way, drive over (you will see a special parking stall marked by a sandwich board for you to pull up in), and call our special pick-up line as denoted on the sandwich board. One of our staff will then wheel your order out to your car.

Several conditions apply, so please consult the curbside pickup section on our website before placing your order.

In-store Safety Procedures

For those of you who still feel like coming out to the store, we've implemented some new in-store procedures to help keep everyone safe and healthy. Because we can not comfortably mitigate the risk of transmission in a crowded environment, we have cancelled all of our Upcoming Events and will be temporarily eliminating Drop in Gaming. We have gone largely cashless, with only one till capable of receiving cash payments if no other payment options are available to you.

While in-store, we encourage customers to practice social distancing, maintaining a government recommended distance of approx. 2 meters from other customers while shopping. We have four tills available in order to reduce line ups, and we have placed lines of tape away from the main till so that customers who are waiting in-line can maintain a safe distance from the customer making their purchase. We understand that navigating a store filled with shelves and hanging sundries can sometimes be difficult while also trying to maintain a safe distance, but every little bit of effort decreases the chances of transmission.

High-touch surfaces are cleaned regularly and our staff have implemented frequent hand washing procedures to discourage transmission. Our bathrooms are also open to anyone who feels the need to wash their hands while shopping.

Stronger Together

As we navigate the COVID-19 situation, Mission: Fun & Games remains committed to doing our part to help fight the virus. Our strength as a community, whether that be a civic or a gaming community, is looking out for each other in times of need. We strongly believe in the innate power that games have to bring people together, even when circumstances force us apart, and we take pride in our mission of bringing smiles to people's places through the medium of tabletop gaming.

We will continue to keep you informed as we receive new information. Be sure to check our website regularly and follow our Facebook page for updates.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
