Come in, agents. We’re glad you were able to attend. We’re still running the necessary diagnostics and analyzing the nature of the temporal anomaly, but we believe we now have enough information to give a preliminary briefing of what we project to be your next mission. We’ve codenamed it Estrella Drive.

By now, you’ve doubtless gone on enough missions that you have some idea of what you’re getting into. You’re familiar with transfer procedures, the receptacles that you inhabit, and the caissons that you’ll use to travel to a new era within the Time Line. And with this mission in particular, you won’t be going quite as far into the past as you have in other missions—it’s not dynastic Egypt or the Middle Ages for you this time. Instead, you’ll be traveling to a place with a… unique position in history: Hollywood, California, in the year 1982.

Our initial scans suggest a continuum anomaly, possibly manifesting as a temporal loop. Your mission is not to close the anomaly at this time. Rather, your main objectives are to study, observe, and report back to us at the T.I.M.E Agency. If necessary, let the potential temporal loop unfold. The more information you can give us, the better equipped we’ll be for a follow-up mission.

The location of the anomaly appears to be a luxurious villa in the Californian hills. Science in the 20th century was incapable of correctly identifying time alterations, so the mansion is believed to be haunted by many natives of this era. You may see various signs of the chrono-quantum disturbance, such as apparitions, self-motivating objects, or sudden drops in temperature. Take careful note of these fissures in the time stream, but remember their true source lies in the damage being done to the Time Line, not in the supernatural. Your calm, objective awareness is crucial to our success in this mission.

Finally, we should note that our early analysis suggests that this mission will bring you into contact with themes that may upset the squeamish or the young. Violence, drugs, and other vices are all common in the time and place we are sending you to, and we highly recommend that younger agents do not embark on this mission.
