March 31 2010 Update: Calcon had 14 players show up; 6 of them, had been seeded from having won previous qualifier tournaments.

This update posted by store owner/organizer, John Engel in March 2010:

The NACC event has been taken away from me and given to the Calcon folks.
There was no discussion with me whatsoever prior to Mayfair's decision; I was absolutely blindsided.
The news had reached me in October of last year, prior to it being publicly announced, and I spoke in earnest with the 3 major players in an effort to retain the event. I will not name them here.

I let them all know how much the event meant to me, how hard I had worked on it each of the past 3 years, what a great community of players we have, and how our attendance was better than all the other venues combined. Also, that Mayfair had never gotten one complaint in any of those 3 years from our players. There were several additional good reasons for the event to remain here, but it would be inappropriate for me to note them here.

Nonetheless, the decision stood.

We had been given the option of running a lesser event, sending a winner to the NACC event we used to have, at Calcon.

I Declined.

My sincere thanks to all the players who had participated in the past 3 years. You were all such great sports, I was extremely appreciative of all of you.
